The Endorsement Parents Look For

Time really does go too fast.  Even though my kids are still relatively young, I still look back at the pictures of them as babies and think “I can’t believe they were ever that small!” Thank goodness I took thousands of pictures of every stage because at least I can hold onto the memories of all those precious moments that went way too fast.  So now when I’m looking in wonder at my two toddlers who are more “kids” than they are “babies”, I can still vividly recall their dimpled little infant hands and their teeny tiny feet that used … Continue reading

You may remember how much we adore the PTPA Award winning Baby Brezza One Step Baby Food Maker, {but if not, please feel free to brush up by reading our Rave Review} and how it single-handedly fed our kids during the pureed food stage.  Well, as it turns out, we still love it.  In fact, we might love it even more after checking out the brand new Baby Brezza cookbook. Yes, that cookbook.  The one that made me *kinda* famous. So, why do we love the Baby Brezza even more now?  We love it even more because the cookbook gave … Continue reading

In our house plan our master bedroom is the first room at the top of the stairs. So, in our case, a sitting room is a nice, relaxing place that transitions from the bedroom to the bathroom and then to the hallway.

Or, at least I hope that one day it will be. It our sitting room tends to collect stuff, be used as storage, and get overlooked as a room that could use some decorating. See what I can do with a few minutes of work and $5.29 to make it over. Continue reading

For the past three years my family has stayed pretty healthy.  We were what my family’s Pediatrician calls “low-risk for illness” since we don’t send the kids to daycare or spend any time in public ball pits.  For years I would watch the posts on Facebook where my friends would lament that the whole family had come down with some horrible cough and cold and feel grateful that we were such low risk. Or, at least we were.  This past fall, my daughter started Pre-School and ended our winning streak against illness as soon as we signed her enrollment paperwork.  … Continue reading

In terms of great educational toys, you really can’t go wrong with building toys.  You just can’t beat the learning that happens when you let your little ones create whatever their heart desires with no rules but that of gravity and physics. I love watching my kids build and manipulate all the small pieces to see what a pile of blocks, bricks, or connectors can become.  Unfortunately, the drawback of all this creativity is that building sets have so many small pieces to scatter across the floor, misplace, or clutter up the toy box.  Luckily for me, there’s a genius … Continue reading

Whoever said there’s no use crying over spilled milk was not a breastfeeding mother.  If you’re referring to a bottle of breastmilk that was lovingly pumped that was then spilled, you have every reason to cry. And, I have cried over spilt milk.  Twice. Seriously, pumping is HARD.  That’s why I dread it, make excuses for not doing it, and it’s why I’ve collected roughly 4oz in 4 months {roughly enough for 2/3 of a feeding}. But, my best excuse for not pumping just came in the mail.  Granted, it’s not pitched as an alternative to pumping, Milkies are simply … Continue reading

If you’ve come to my house to play in the past few months, chances are you were immediately asked if you wanted to play with Tegu Blocks. If so, you probably had the same reaction everyone else does when asked if you want to play: a shrug and an “I guess”. But, once the felted Tegu tote is pulled out that houses our beloved Tegu Blocks, immediately everyone is excited. “Whoa, are these magnetic blocks?!?” Why yes, yes they are. I vividly remember the first time I saw them at a store; I probably played with them for a good … Continue reading

I’m not a resolutions person, per se.  In fact, if my past is any indication, if I call something a New Year’s resolution it’s a pretty safe bet I will abandon it mid-January. So, I have “traditions” instead.  A tradition of getting organized and clearing things out for the New Year.  A tradition of de-cluttering and de-papering. This “tradition” has kept me up for four nights straight, scared that if I stopped and finally went to bed that I would lose my momentum and never get to the end of my to-do list.  Alas, I did not, and I am … Continue reading
