The Endorsement Parents Look For

Tag Archives: My Real Review

More and more of my friends have been buying eReaders, and my curiosity was piqued. As a former teacher, I have a love of reading, especially when it comes to children’s books. At the same time, I’m a busy work-at-home-mom and am always on the lookout for conveniences! Why I love my Kobo Vox? I can carry a whole library of books with me wherever I go . . . without having to carry any actual books. The Kobo Vox fits nicely in my purse and is easy to pull out when I have a minute to read -this is … Continue reading

This past weekend, I packed up my youngest child and hopped on a plane to Edmonton, Alberta for an incredible blogging conference, BlogWest 2012. I was also able share with attendees my experience as a PTPA Blogaholic (if you blog, you should seriously consider joining us!) and connect with some fabulous brands. Tomorrow night I’ll be hosting a discussion on Brands and Bloggers, and PTPA will be sponsoring the prizes!! Here are the details! #BlogWest #PTPA Brands to Bloggers Twitter Party What: Chat about how brands connect with bloggers When: Tuesday, March 13th from 7:00-8:00 pm PST (that’s 8-9 pm … Continue reading

Tomorrow (February 29, 2012) I am wearing a pink shirt. I’m joining others across Canada for Pink Shirt Day and wearing pink to show that I am against bullying in any form. When we think of bullying, we mostly think about children and teens. Last week I had the opportunity to attend a Pink Shirt Day luncheon in Vancouver, BC with a group of amazing women who work in all kinds of media. We were encouraged to use our voice to show that bullying is unacceptable, not just among youth, but among adults too. Yes, if we want children to … Continue reading

Recently, I blogged about my great experience ordering online from Chapters Indigo. Then, earlier this week while on a mission to buy those final gifts on my shopping list, I checked out the all-new Indigo Kids area at my local Chapters (all the way over on the west coast of BC). The area had been totally transformed and was much more kid-friendly (an enclosed area, play stations set up for kids, and maneuverable aisles for those of us pushing strollers). And, of course, I spotted the PTPA Seal of Approval: If you head out to a Chapters Indigo for last … Continue reading

As you may have heard, Indigo is one of the latest winners of the PTPA seal for their online shopping experience. With Christmas coming, it’s important to know where you can find reliable service and a great selection. The Indigo Kids Birthday Shop has toy recommendations by age -perfect if you’re stuck for gift ideas. My online shopping experience was a breeze, I could easily navigate the site while browsing and, once I made my decision, the checkout process was simple (I used a gift card and paying this way was very straightforward). I ordered two books for myself plus … Continue reading

I am organizationally challenged. Over the years, I’ve learned many strategies that enable me to appear organized (and allow me to successfully function in the grown-up world); however, my husband can attest to the fact that this does not come easily for me. Therefore, whenever I find an organizational solution that is practical and easy to implement, I get very excited. One of the latest PTPA Winners, the GemGini Hanging Jewelry Organizer has completely eliminated my jewelry clutter! The GemGini attaches either magnetically or adhesively to any flat surface: the inside of a medicine cabinet, the back of a door, or … Continue reading

Crunch a Color is one of PTPA’s latest winning products. Thanks to this fun mealtime game, my five year old is more motivated to eat (and even try new) vegetables. Pretty awesome, right?! Here’s how the game works: Each family member earns points based on their food choices at mealtime. The healthier the choices, the more points you get! A portion is considered to be the size of an individual’s fist, so smaller family members can still get the same number of points for smaller amounts! The game box is filled with cards that each person can collect throughout the … Continue reading
