The Endorsement Parents Look For

The dreaded subject that we us mom’s and dad’s don’t want to think about, but a lot of us have to think about … going back to work. I will start off by saying, that I started working at the age of 16 and never took that year or so off to travel the world and find myself after high school or University, so naturally when I found out I was pregnant, I was quite excited at the thought of having a “stress free” year off to spend with my child (jokes on me right?!) After having my son (who … Continue reading

Mother’s Day will be celebrated this  Sunday, May 13th 2012 – the one day a year we mom’s can sit back, put up our feet and celebrate Motherhood. I wrote the following post on my blog last Mother’s Day and thought I would share it here with all of you: “A Mother is a woman who had conceived, given birth to, or raised a child in the role of a parent“. This is part of the definition according wikipedia however, to me the role of Motherhood is define by so much more than that. Whether birthed, adopted or taken in, the … Continue reading

We all know how difficult it is to stay in shape and find time to exercise — especially for women with babies or small kids. There’s the sleep-deprivation factor, no time and priority changes. So what are the fitness options for busy moms? The fact is, the more you can take care of yourself and the better you feel, the stronger you will be physically and emotionally to take on the day with the “little ones” — and all of life’s challenges. Below are some quick but effective exercises — specifically designed for the busy mom — for the back … Continue reading

NO! Those 2 letters have a strong impact and I find myself saying it 10, no wait, 20 times a day. I hate saying “No” all the time, but I don’t want to be one of those parents who politely tells their child to “come here” as they run around the store, tearing things off shelves. We have all seen that happen! I think those parents will have a tougher time down the road when their child hasn’t learned any boundaries and is use to getting everything they want when they want it. So what to do? I often find … Continue reading

Um yea so you may have noticed I have been a little absent.  You see I went on this fab trip with my family, discovering the world and spending quality time together. I WISH!  So we didn’t travel around the world but I do have a great excuse for my absenteeism and missing out on all of the PTPA fun!  BABY #2 is on their way and she, yes I said SHE, will be coming into our lives sometimes at the end of March.  So you are probably thinking, great another baby, but why haven’t you been blogging?  You see … Continue reading

And since then…I haven’t figured out a DAMN thing.

A funny thing happened to me on the weekend. Well, let me rephrase that… a funny thing happened to my lamp on the weekend. You see, despite the platitude of warnings regarding throwing things in the house (balls, toys, shoes… you get the drift), it seems no one was listening. Again. Do I have to keep repeating myself? I guess I do, because this time the infraction cost me a lamp – and not just any lamp, the only new lamp I’ve purchased in the last five years! (Can someone tell me why it’s always the case?) It couldn’t have … Continue reading

OK, well, the secret’s out now. I’m going to be 30 in 2 weeks. 30 has made me evaluate some things in my life that are perhaps not exactly as I’d love them to be. Check out my personal health goals and get some inspiration for your own milestones, or maybe just for your healthiest summer yet! Continue reading
