We all know how difficult it is to stay in shape and find time to exercise — especially for women with babies or small kids. There’s the sleep-deprivation factor, no time and priority changes. So what are the fitness options for busy moms? The fact is, the more you can take care of yourself and the better you feel, the stronger you will be physically and emotionally to take on the day with the “little ones” — and all of life’s challenges. Below are some quick but effective exercises — specifically designed for the busy mom — for the back … Continue reading

Creamy, Tasty, and “So Good” for you Although my family doesn’t have any dietary obstacles we all love the taste, and occasionally enjoy a cold glass of “So Good” Soy Beverages. My eyes are always open to trying new things, especially when it comes to food and health for my family. I bet you could guess which flavour was our favorite? Chocolate of course! It’s smooth and creamy, and “OH SO GOOD!” Anyone who knows me knows Chocolate Milk is my favorite drink and I must say “So Good” Chocolate Soy Beverages could simply take the place of my daily Crave, and has! “So Good” Soy … Continue reading

When my oldest was born I was hit with a case of clean-freak-itis (apparently this happens to many new moms). Five years and two more kids later, I’ve become a bit more laid back (and I’m hopeful that when my children reflect upon their childhood, they will be thankful that I overcame my germaphobia). Don’t worry though, if you come to visit me, my house is still a healthy level of clean -it’s just not obsessively clean anymore. With a newborn in the house once again, I have had to figure out the balance between essential tasks (to keep us … Continue reading

She touched the peanut butter and tasted it, but didn’t seem to particularly like it. Before I could wash her hands, she got some on her face and started … Continue reading

Yep, baby boy will be 9 months on Valentines Day.  I had this notion that I would be back in the swing of my fitness routine, training all my clients again with a busy schedule and still fitting in my own workouts when I was 3 months postpartum. The idea of taking on a lot of clients again and working out daily was thrown out the window as I walked around my house like a zombie each day from not sleeping the night before. I thought I would be back in to my pre-pregnancy clothes already. I am SOOOO not … Continue reading

I took a bit of a blogging sabbatical. Yes, it was unplanned and it was apparently needed for my mind, body and spirit.  Like most of you the holidays overtook my life with family member after family member visiting, places to go, things to do, and messes to clean up.  But you may wonder where I was the weeks before that.  As some of you know we had a tragedy strike our family the end of September.  My 21 year old brother passed away from a car accident and he has left a hole in all of our hearts.  I … Continue reading

As yoga has hit the main stream the variety of classes continue to increase. Even recreation facilities have started to offer the large variety of classes that you would have only found at a yoga studio in the years before.  You may be looking to start yoga but hesitant as you don’t know what class to register for.  Or, you may be a yoga enthusiast but would like to try something new.  I have outlined here for you various yoga styles that you will now find at most places that offer yoga.
