I was under the serverely misguided impression that once my baby was a toddler and long past infancy, I would be getting a good night’s sleep. Wrong. My daughter is now four years old and though she loves her sleep (she’s not a morning person!), she sometimes often wakes up in the middle of the night. The Witching Hour for her is usually around 3AM. She doesn’t wake up completely, but often cries and complains about having foot pain or leg pain. Sometimes it’s a tummy ache and sometimes it’s a bad dream that causes her to scream in the … Continue reading
I just had my second child a month ago and while the nights are still sleepless and the laundry is never ending, here are a few things I learned along the way that are different this time around. 1. Labour During my first labour, I was in so much pain that I swore up and down that I would never have another child (don’t we all). Well, this time around, I got an epidural at 3 cm and was smiling versus at 4 cm and experiencing hell. 2. Postpartum emotions While I experienced baby blues after my eldest was born, … Continue reading
Let’s chat about Childproofing – something that’s always important, but far more necessary for the adventurous toddler! I’ve mentioned several times now about how my little man has become more and more “adventurous” in the last few months. My boy has been climbing everything from stairs to furniture since he was about 9 months old — before he could even walk! He’s trouble. Cute trouble, but he’s trouble. Recently, I’ve noticed that he’s going for the bigger challenges. It’s scaring me silly! The other day I had all of my daycare kids downstairs, and ran upstairs to grab them a … Continue reading
When PTPA asked if any member of its Blogaholic team would like to evaluate a video monitor from Motorola, my arm shot up so quickly I nearly dislocated my shoulder. The Motorola MBP33 Video Baby Monitor was soon a fixture in Miss Q’s bedroom. Continue reading
Somewhere, somehow in the last couple of weeks or so my son L has suddenly become a toddler. I don’t understand how it happened so fast! Last month my little boy was a sweet, reserved and fairly quiet little man. He knew how to play with trucks and how to climb the picnic table, but he was still happy to crawl into my lap, close his eyes and fall asleep. He was walking, but still crawling. He still liked to be spoon fed and sometimes, if he was tired, he would even let me hold his bottle. Fast forward to … Continue reading
I’m proud and very excited to have been chosen as one of PTPA’s Brand Ambassadors for Munchkin Canada! My little ones and our Day Care have been using their products for a couple years now so it seemed like a perfect fit. I love the variety they offer and how durable their products are, which is important when you care for 6 kids on a daily basis. I received a wonderful package of goodies from Munchkin and my kids went right to work by ripping the packages apart and rifling through all the amazing new products. I think their favourite … Continue reading
As the Mother of a 20 month old, I’ve finally come to accept the fact that no matter how hard I try, I am NOT a perfect parent. I accept this. I trust my instincts and I do what I feel is best for my child. My daughter is healthy, happy, smart, beautiful, spoiled, well taken care of… this list could go on. My Husband and I do our best. That is what matters, right? Wrong. At least according to my Mother In Law. I feel like she’s constantly making remarks as to how … Continue reading
Sleep is my obsession. I’m really into routines and creating a go-to-sleep routine for the kiddos, which always includes Grobag sleep sacks while they’re still crib-bound. Continue reading
