Holy crap Oh me, oh my, I will be dropping Baby Boy off at daycare Monday morning at 9:30 for his first 2 hour visit as he starts integration.  I cannot believe he is already 10 months and that, especially after writing about our daycare dilemma, we actually got a childcare spot in Quebec at a highly recommended childcare centre. The hubby had to ask all the questions I had as the owner speaks ownly french, but this excites me as it means baby boy will learn french from an early age which my husband and I feel is important for him … Continue reading

Yep, baby boy will be 9 months on Valentines Day.  I had this notion that I would be back in the swing of my fitness routine, training all my clients again with a busy schedule and still fitting in my own workouts when I was 3 months postpartum. The idea of taking on a lot of clients again and working out daily was thrown out the window as I walked around my house like a zombie each day from not sleeping the night before. I thought I would be back in to my pre-pregnancy clothes already. I am SOOOO not … Continue reading

We most definitely did not set out on our parenting journey thinking we were following any Attachment Parenting (AP) techniques.  We do what has felt most natural to us as a family.  We cloth diaper, we babywear, we co-sleep and we have started EC’ing.  EC stands for elimination communication which means we give our baby boy opportunities (or “pottytunities” as a book I am reading says) to urinate and have bowel movement in a toilet rather than dirtying his diaper or himself.  The whole concept may seem foreign to some and if you would have asked me a few years … Continue reading

For those of us who live through cold cold winters it’s important to remember that our little babes and tots feel the cold a lot quicker than we do.  Hypothermia can happen very quickly and as parents we need to react without delay to help warm up our little precious children.  Here is a snippet of information on hypothermia that is included in my Safe Parent manual for first aid workshops I have developed for parents and caregivers.  Remember to stay warm and stay safe!  I always suggest that you share this information with your baby-sitters to educate them on important … Continue reading

It’s exactly 8 months today that our lives were blessed with such a sweet baby.  Baby boy was born and our lives were forever changed.  Forever changed in a way I only dreamed of, a way I would never ever take back.  I only wish one thing. I wish I was given more than a 3 hour stretch of sleep in the last 8 months.  Yes, you read that correctly. My child has yet to sleep more than 3 hours at a time. Well, thats a lie, he did sleep 4 hours once and I had to hold back from … Continue reading

I took a bit of a blogging sabbatical. Yes, it was unplanned and it was apparently needed for my mind, body and spirit.  Like most of you the holidays overtook my life with family member after family member visiting, places to go, things to do, and messes to clean up.  But you may wonder where I was the weeks before that.  As some of you know we had a tragedy strike our family the end of September.  My 21 year old brother passed away from a car accident and he has left a hole in all of our hearts.  I … Continue reading

Aden & Anais have 2 wonderful PTPA winning products that I had the opportunity of testing within our family and they are now staple products that come everywhere we go.  My baby boy is 5 months old and I can finally say he has a special blankie just for him to call his own.  It is easily portable, so soft to the touch and best of all it came in a package of 2, so I can rotate them without worrying about him becoming attached to one single object that may get lost on an outing!   Their Issie  security blankets are quite … Continue reading
