After an entire month of some nasty virus’ going around in my house, including (but not limited to) the stomach flu, bronchitis, and a double ear infection, I’m actually glad to welcome January and a new year! My kids were both on amoxacillin this Christmas, limiting the amount of festivities we were able to take part in. As a friend of mine said, “every kid needs that crappy ‘I was sick during Christmas’ story.” … I guess both of my kids have that story now. New Years Eve is going to be all about hanging out with the family. … Continue reading

I was raised Roman Catholic. My grandparents were devout Catholics. Religion played a large role in our family. I grew up with friends of various faiths, religions, and cultural backgrounds. In college and university, most of the people I hung out with were Jewish. Being included in Seder dinners were the highlight of my year back then! I took everything in and marveled at the traditions different from my own. To this day, my friends know that if you share a knish, latke, matzo ball soup or gefilte fish with me, I’m your best friend forever. I ended up marrying … Continue reading
2012 is drawing to a close and it is pretty normal to be reflective at this time of year. Although, this year I would definitely say that I am being more reflective than usual. 2012 saw my twin boys turn two, I received a promotion and I started my blog. So many things to celebrate, yet, there is a dark, gloomy cloud that hangs over this year for me. Work has been hard, I have lost some people close to me and the news, especially in the last few weeks has been tragic. So, I’ve decided that with the close … Continue reading
Celebrating the True Meaning of Christmas I am not a particularly spiritual person. I don’t go to church every Sunday. I don’t go to confession or even pray on a regular basis. I was baptized in the Catholic Church and growing up I did go to church every week (although not the Catholic Church because there wasn’t one any where near us) and even taught Sunday School for several years. I always loved going to church. Even back then I’m not sure if I “believed” but I did know that the lessons I was being taught, and later taught to … Continue reading

You’d think a headline like that would be a part of a link baiting scheme, right? As one of the members involved in the video you are about to watch, I can assure you that it is 100% legit. A few weeks back, I volunteered to be one of the Dads involved in the recreating of Mariah Carey’s classic, “All I Want For Christmas”. The song is dedicated to our children and I know that my kids have already enjoyed seeing Daddy, and more importantly, themselves, on the computer screen. For those of you who don’t know, the Life of … Continue reading
