Let’s relive our teen years and talk about our celebrity crushes for a moment. Mama’s and Papa’s can have crushes too right? _________________________________________________________________ What if you could have 1 day with your celebrity crush? Who would it be? What would you do…well I mean besides the obvious What would be the 1 question you would ask them? For many of you who know me, you already know that I am slightly in love with Lenny Kravitz…those deep eyes that can see right through your soul, perfectly coloured skin with not a flaw in sight, that hair -gorgeous, those muscles – OMG, and … Continue reading
Another week, more hearts to break. But that’s the way the champagne cork flies in the world of The Bachelor, which is turning out to be ridiculously addictive yet again this season. I figured Sean Lowe would make a ho-hum leading man, but it turns out he’s got a wild sense of humour and a sick set of abs — enough to keep me and millions of other women watching. Speaking of women, what do you think of the 16 Sean has kept around for Week 3 (a.k.a. Monday’s episode)? For me, they fall into three categories: Mean girls who … Continue reading
Be still, my heart! I just cannot bear to go on much longer not knowing who Brad Smith chooses to be his No. 1 on the season finale of The Bachelor Canada. Oh, the suspense! But lucky for me — and the many of you out there who can’t resist the guilty pleasure — there’s not much waiting left to do, as the V-necked, pec-tatted CFLer will hand out the final rose on Wednesday’s big finale. Yes, I’m eager to know who he picks — sultry Bianka or catty Whitney. Though I’m not really married to the idea of either … Continue reading
I’m so excited to be a new PTPA Blogaholic! What an honour to be part of a such a smart and talented group. Hmm, I guess you’re wondering who the heck I am, right? Well, simply put, I’m a gal of two passions: Family and writing. But let’s expand on that a bit. On the home front, I’m a doting and oft-clueless mommy to a feisty and fun 10-month-old boy. Next year I will turn 30 — and my relationship with my high school sweetheart (now my hubby) will turn 15. That’s half of my life with the same man, … Continue reading
I was lucky enough to be invited to a preview screening of the Bachelor Canada. I really wasn’t sure what to expect when I sat down to view the premiere episode of the Canadian version of this extraordinarily popular US franchise. Sometimes Canadian versions of American reality shows are great (So You Think You Can Dance), and sometimes they’re slightly lame (Canada’s Got Talent). I stopped watching the Bachelor a few years ago. The whole making out with seven women in one night thing sort of bothered me. While it was entertaining, the well-hidden feminist in me couldn’t handle the … Continue reading

Most scientists agree that the existing research is tenuous. Placenta is known to contain high levels of iron, vitamin B-12, and certain hormones—a fact activists cite as proof of its nutritional value—but there is no conclusive study linking, for example, the iron in a placenta to increased strength in a new mother. -New York Magazine Photo Credit: nongpimmy Recently, placenta capsulation has become a big trend among Hollywood celebrities. Since Mad Men star January Jones admitted to taking these supplements to fight off fatigue and help promote healthy healing of her after-birth body. “Your placenta gets dehydrated and made … Continue reading
Hey Mamas! I just came across this amazing book. Haven’t read it yet, but intend to do so. It is causing a lot of stir in hollywood and world-wide at the moment. Would love to know what your views are on the topic of attachment parenting. I never thought I would be the type of parent who had my child stuck to me like glue 24 hours a day. Then ‘Cookie’ came into this world and it sent me on a world-wind change, a change that surprised everyone around me. I found myself completely submerged into his world, as a … Continue reading
