Kids will be heading back to school in a short while and this means it is time to get equipped to pack those daily lunches. I don’t know about you but when I think about sending kids off to school with a traditional lunchbox packed with perishables just an ice pack thrown in to keep it cold I kind of cringe. I have gone this route myself and ended up with warm yogurt or sandwiches (with mayo!)…..can you say health hazard?? The past couple of weeks I have been toting our on the go lunches in a Fridge-to-go and it … Continue reading
As you can imagine, life with three children brings with it more bumps and bruises than I like to think about. Three busy kids can create boo-boos that take more than a kiss from Mama to fix. When I was approached to review the Instant & Reusable Cold Pack from ACU-LIFE I gave an enthusiastic YES! The Instant & Reusable Cold Pack gives you an immediate cold pack during the first use. There are others who are an instant cold pack on the market but this one is better….unlike others it is not disposed of after! You can store the … Continue reading
I know lots and lots of kids and their parents who are looking forward to summer vacation. Summer vacation brings with it all sorts of wonderful things….beach days, family time, visits to the park and music from the ice cream truck. Let’s face it though, it also brings with it the mess which kids at home can sometimes (always??) manage to create. I love my children but they can be messy…very, very messy. I am always looking for ways to motivate them to help out more and I found something that works for us: Les Mess. Les Mess is a … Continue reading
What holiday would be complete without a baby doll? I remember Santa bringing me a doll each year as a child and I still remember the excitement I felt over the responsibility of mothering my new baby. This year, the baby doll to have is Baby GoGo. Baby GoGo is not your typical baby doll. Baby GoGo is reinventing the look of the baby doll for the 21st century. Baby GoGo (a 13 inch doll) comes dressed in bright, gender neutral colors which makes it the perfect playmate for a girl OR a boy. I really love this. Dolls are … Continue reading
Last year I did a craft with the boys called the Thankful Tree. The boys enjoyed doing it so much and I thought it was such a great way to celebrate the importance of the season that we did it again this year. I think it helps children to understand what the holiday is all about and, at least in my case, it is sure to produce some laughs. My plan is to make this an annual event, saving all the previous years so we can see how things have changed (or not!) over the years. Here is how our … Continue reading
< I have a book that every kid should have….Beautiful Oops by Barney Saltzberg. Beautiful Oops sends the very powerful message that everyone makes mistakes, mistakes are OK to make and that what appears to be a mistake might just be the beginnings of something wonderful. Isn’t that a lesson we all want our children to learn? Well, this book does an amazing job of relaying that in way that is creative and fun. Barney Saltzberg, the effervescent spirit behind Good Egg, offers a one-of-a-kind interactive book that shows young readers how every mistake is an opportunity to make something … Continue reading
It was not that long ago that my twins were one year old. They just turned four so really just a short time ago. Why is it then that I seem to have forgotten just how mischievous a tiny little person can be? Enter my newly one year old daughter, Baby R as a sweet little reminder of all things dangerous! Baby R is adorable, loving and an absolute doll. She is also a mischief maker. A really, really big mischief maker. Maybe it is because she was such an early walker but all I know is she is now … Continue reading
The other day the boys and I worked on some Halloween crafts. In a magazine I had seen the cutest decorations an crafts using candy corn. I decided our house definitely needed it’s own candy corn tree so the boys and I set out to make one. Together we gathered sticks, a bag of candy corn and some glue. The boys were very excited for the project and decided that I should make my own large candy corn tree and that they would each create their own small version…how cute. Here is how things can get a little lost in … Continue reading
