Whenever I go out to eat, I’ve always been that one person who orders water. I’m not kidding when I say that sometimes the waiters give me dirty looks and probably think to themselves, “Yeah, this lady is  going to be a cheap tipper.” (which for the record, I’m a great tipper)

February 1st, 2008 was the worst day of my life.  My Mother was shopping at Walmart in Montgomery, Alabama.  She fell to the ground and had a heart attack. NO ONE WOULD HELP HER. No bystanders, no employees, no one and she passed away as a result.  I can’t help but to think if someone would have even tried CPR, there may be a chance that my Mother could still be with us today. She was a healthy woman, only 43 years old. She went to Walmart to buy tampons and died by the Jewelry counter.  None of us saw … Continue reading

As the Mother of a 20 month old, I’ve finally come to accept the fact that no matter how hard I try, I am NOT a perfect parent.   I accept this.  I trust my instincts and I do what I feel is best for my child.     My daughter is healthy, happy, smart, beautiful, spoiled, well taken care of… this list could go on.   My Husband and I do our best.  That is what matters, right?   Wrong.  At least according to my Mother In Law.   I feel like she’s constantly making remarks as to how … Continue reading

Every parent has their own ideas of what’s right and wrong when it comes to parenting. As a new Mom, I’ve learned this VERY quickly. People are quick to judge when it comes to the way other people raise their children. Another thing I’ve learned is that every child is different and sometimes it takes different methods to teach them right from wrong. This is a very controversial photo of a Father having his daughter stand out in public holding a sign that says “I lied to my Dad”   What are YOUR thoughts on this?    Would you do … Continue reading

The internet is full of great (and not so great) ideas.   I think one of my favorite things about the Web, is that you learn a lot of awesome, yet random, ideas.   One of my favorite reads was How To Use Everyday Objects for other things then they were intended.   I’m excited to learn of some of these ideas, but I am a skeptic.  I’m the type of person who won’t believe it until I see it.    So, I’ve decided to put some of these home remedies to the test for myself. This will be my first official Everyday Object … Continue reading

We did it!  We finally tied the knot!  I am now officially Mrs. Mergel.   Let me tell you that Weddings are a pain in the rear end!   So many details.  What can go wrong, just might go wrong.   My In Laws were 20 minutes late to our Ceremony, we LOST the rings (We later found them at the Reception), and as we were leaving to go to the Ceremony, my Aunt’s house caught on fire (Everything is okay, it was caught just in time)!    After all was said and done, I have to say it went pretty well.   These past … Continue reading

Couponing is quite difficult when you first start out.  There are so many ways to do things and so many rules to follow.  Each store has their own policies and ways that they do things.   I want to share with you a few things that I learned at first which helped me to get started.   Some of you may already know these things, but if so, feel free to comment and share some of YOUR tips and tricks of couponing. *Don’t get frustrated with couponing. It takes time to get adjusted on how things work.  Some people are just better … Continue reading
