I’m so happy that summer is finally here. I feel like I’ve been stuck in the house for way too long! Here are a few things I always look forward to every summer. 1 – The heat! I will never complain about the heat. Bring it on. 2 – Sunny days. 3 – Pool time in the backyard. We’ve got a great blow up pool for my toddler and lots of sprinkler toys to enjoy playing in the sun with. 4 – Camping in the back yard. One of my daughter’s favourite memories from last year. Its simple but very … Continue reading

Names are such an important label to give a new little person. Often times moms and dads start thinking of names for their kids as soon as they know they are expecting. Sometimes a name comes easily, sometimes not. There are countless books to refer to for the perfect name. There are thousands of websites listing everything from the most popular names to the latest trends. Lets face it, naming a child is a lot of pressure. My brother and sister-in-law are expecting their first child any day now. We’re all super excited. We already know its a girl but … Continue reading

We’re at that point where the infant car seat just isn’t cutting it. Our little guy is a heavy 17lbs. It’s time to move him into a new car seat for so many reasons. The main reason being that I can barely carry him in the infant car seat anymore! I started shopping around to see what’s on the market and am so surprised to see how much things have changed since my daughter was a wee one. I’ve narrowed it down to two highly rated car seats and am going to have to make my decision this week.  How … Continue reading

We’ve been back from our tropical holiday for almost a week now. As mentioned, I was a bit worried traveling with 2 kids for the first time. It took me almost a week to pack. I had all kinds of distractions ready for the plane and more. The trip went so well. Our baby loved having our full attention and our toddler became a super swimmer. We were lucky enough to try out two resorts while on Oahu. The first resort was the Hilton Hawaiian Village. This resort is situated in Waikiki and has 6 pools and a lagoon. We … Continue reading

I’m one excited mama right now. Next week at this time we’ll be on the beach in Hawaii! The most exciting part? It’s our first trip as a family of 4. My husband and I LOVE to travel. My 4 year old daughter has been to all kinds of fun places with us. She was on the plane 6 times before she turned 2! It’s very exciting to now be bringing our little guy on his first flight and his first trip. I’ve been starting a list in my head of all the things I will need to bring. I … Continue reading

This week I am reviewing a great new Canadian product called Easy Daysies. Easy Daysies is a magnetic daily schedule for kids. The Easy Daysies starter kit comes with 18 magnets and a fold and go magnetic board. There are two designs to choose from. A daisy pattern and an apple pattern. I first discovered the Easy Daysies when I read through my copy of Canadian Parents magazine. I was so interested in the concept, I had to contact them! Easy Daysies was generous enough to send me my very own kit to try out with my 3 year old. … Continue reading

Be honest, how many of you still pack your kid’s lunches with baggies everyday. I did, I did! That’s right, I did, until I discovered LunchSkins.  LunchSkins is a new way to pack those sandwiches or grapes in your kids’ lunchboxes (or yours too!) LunchSkins are stylish pouches made of a thick cotton fabric that is coated with a food-safe polyurethane liner.  These cool pouches close with a super secure velcro and are dishwasher safe! What more could you ask for?! I was lucky enough to test out a sandwich bag. I’ve used it in my daughter’s lunch box ever since I received it in the mail. This … Continue reading
