So December has arrived and there is only two weeks left until the big day! Instead of becoming overwhelmed with tasks on your to do list I have some tips to share on how I like to stay organized and calm during this busy month. *Make a list & check it twice with everyone you need to buy or make a gift for.  Don’t be left running around trying to find a gift for that certain somebody who you happened to forget about or wasn’t sure what to get. Plan it out before! *Draft up a meal plan so you … Continue reading

I must confess I have a fourth love (ya know after my lovely husband and dear child and baby girl on the way).  My fourth love is vibrant, always full of life and never a dull moment.  Who is this fourth love? Montreal. Oh my dear Montreal, how I love you!  I fell in love with this City the first time I visited it and luckily for me with my husband living there in the years past and many friends and family still residing there its a place we visit often.  So often actually that we actually have a membership … Continue reading

Um yea so you may have noticed I have been a little absent.  You see I went on this fab trip with my family, discovering the world and spending quality time together. I WISH!  So we didn’t travel around the world but I do have a great excuse for my absenteeism and missing out on all of the PTPA fun!  BABY #2 is on their way and she, yes I said SHE, will be coming into our lives sometimes at the end of March.  So you are probably thinking, great another baby, but why haven’t you been blogging?  You see … Continue reading

Summer vacation is fast approaching and you may have some great holiday plans in place, or possibly you are still looking for something to do with the kids.  If you are coming to the Ottawa area this summer, or will be heading through on your way to another destination, here are some of my favourite places to visit with children! 1.  Agricultural Museum- Great place for the kids to see all the different farm animals, take part in interactive sessions and demo’s, see all the new baby animals that were born this Spring!  Head over to the gardens across the … Continue reading

I am always looking for new cloth diapers to try out with my little man. It has become a little bit of an obsession.  We have many different brands of cloth diapers which include pocket diapers, all in ones, prefolds, fitteds, covers, etc.  I was excited to find out that a local Ottawa mom has jumped into the cloth diaper business. Sophie Gratton wanted to make cloth diapers that fixed some of her pet peeves from when she cloth diapered her children.   She wanted a trim diaper, that was leak free, made in Canada and of course affordable. PTPA Award … Continue reading

Families sometimes come up with their own lingo and words.  Pacifiers can become “suces”, “paci”, “sucky”.  Breastfeeding can become “nummies”, “numnums”, “boobies”, etc.  But why not use, or use in conjunction with any “family words”, a universal language that many others in the world can also understand? Why not use a a way of communication that enables you to ask a questions or make a statement without making any noise at all?  My family has done just that thanks to the PTPA Award Winning My Smart Hands baby sign language tools.  I have had the opportunity to meet the wonderful … Continue reading

Holy crap Oh me, oh my, I will be dropping Baby Boy off at daycare Monday morning at 9:30 for his first 2 hour visit as he starts integration.  I cannot believe he is already 10 months and that, especially after writing about our daycare dilemma, we actually got a childcare spot in Quebec at a highly recommended childcare centre. The hubby had to ask all the questions I had as the owner speaks ownly french, but this excites me as it means baby boy will learn french from an early age which my husband and I feel is important for him … Continue reading
