Siri for iPhone 4s sounded too good to be true, and if you are American, she likely fulfills much of that promise. But, as a Canadian, I wonder how many of you are experiencing the same Siri let down.

Before I give you suggestions for a fantastic March break on a budget, you need to plan in advance to disconnect. Yes, I mean from your phone, your e-mail, your twitter and facebook.
Try making yourself a schedule as to when and how often you will check your phone (every 5 minutes is not considered taking a break!) and put your phone on silent mode for the rest of the time. We all need time where we can commit to our family whole heartedly. I always laugh at myself when I say to my children, you aren’t paying attention to me and yet, very often I find myself texting someone and at the same time nodding my head to my kids as if I actually heard what they just said. Balls in a schoolyard, if you haven’t heard, is the newest controversy to hit Toronto. Apparently children (and adults)have the potential to get injured by a ball and because some families would like their children to live in a proverbial bubble, this is of concern. Continue reading
Chapters Indigo to me has always been that spot that I go to for my “own” time. It’s that place that I know I can grab my Starbucks Americano Misto and curl up in a cozy chair with a stack of books and start sifting through them to find the one that is just right. There’s something about the cozy atmosphere that just draws me to the store every few weeks. My love of reading is paired perfectly with my love for this store. Continue reading
I am in awe. As a high tech junkie and previous high tech entrepreneur, I consider myself pretty tech savvy and always on the look out for the latest & greatest tech toy. This week I had the opportunity to attend the Microsoft Xbox Kinect reveal of the newest games coming into the market place. To say I am speechless is an understatement. To say that I feel like we have surpassed the Star Trek age and blown past it in technology (although I would still prefer to teleport than fly) is no exaggeration. Continue reading

I recently lost my best friend. I mean best, the kind you call as soon as you have something amazing to share, the kind who has seen you through relationships, been a shoulder to cry on and has been there for weddings, births of your children and whose family has become an extension of your own. Best by anyones standard. He was 37, had a 22 month old and a 6 week old. He had a business that he had just expanded and as far as he told me, life was worthwhile because he had the best wife and kids a man could ask for and friends that anyone would be jealous of.
