Balls in a schoolyard, if you haven’t heard, is the newest controversy to hit Toronto. Apparently children (and adults)have the potential to get injured by a ball and because some families would like their children to live in a proverbial bubble, this is of concern. Continue reading
Chapters Indigo to me has always been that spot that I go to for my “own” time. It’s that place that I know I can grab my Starbucks Americano Misto and curl up in a cozy chair with a stack of books and start sifting through them to find the one that is just right. There’s something about the cozy atmosphere that just draws me to the store every few weeks. My love of reading is paired perfectly with my love for this store. Continue reading
I am in awe. As a high tech junkie and previous high tech entrepreneur, I consider myself pretty tech savvy and always on the look out for the latest & greatest tech toy. This week I had the opportunity to attend the Microsoft Xbox Kinect reveal of the newest games coming into the market place. To say I am speechless is an understatement. I mean best, the kind you call as soon as you have something amazing to share, the kind who has seen you through relationships, been a shoulder to cry on and has been there for weddings, births of your children and whose family has become an extension of your own. Best by anyones standard. He was 37, had a 22 month old and a 6 week old. He had a business that he had just expanded and as far as he told me, life was worthwhile because he had the best wife and kids a man could ask for and friends that anyone would be jealous of. Since we have so many members (40,000 of you!) who have taken the time to tell us about you and your family, I thought I would take the time to tell you a little about me and why I started PTPA. So here’s the deal: I had just sold my first company shortly before giving birth to my first child. I was one of those moms who knew I was not going to do well on mat leave without some grown up interaction. Don’t get me wrong, I was (and still am) madly in love with my daughter but I … Continue reading
Over the next few days we will be putting a hold on our Social Media pages. Our Social Media Mom, Heather, who all of you have come to love from her facebook posts for PTPA and her tweets as @ptpa has been living at Sick Kids hospital for the last week with her beautiful son Zack. His situation has become critical and I’m sure you will all join me in sending our love and support to Heather at this truly gut wrenching time. We are opening this blog post where you can leave your comments for Heather because nothing keeps … Continue reading
