The Endorsement Parents Look For

Go ahead and comment! Our bloggers want to hear from you.

I will be the first one to admit it. For the longest time our master bedroom was anything BUT Passionate looking.

Now don’t get me wrong, it has always been fairly neat & tidy, though I confess to occasionally having a basket of clean laundry hanging around for a few days waiting to be folded.

But on most days our bedroom would look like this:

~ Before ~

Tidy ~ Yes.

Boring ~ HELL YES!

And because I am a momma, some days it looks like this:

Monster Truck Arena

This isn't a bed, it's a Monster Truck Arena

Enough is Enough! I put my foot down. NO more laundry. NO more monster trucks. NO MORE BORING!

I needed to turn our bedroom from BOU-BLAH into BOU-DOIR without breaking the bank or requiring a lot of effort.

Here is what I came with:

STEP ONE: Curtains and Bedding. Walmart and Winners provided me with all that I needed to make the biggest impact. I did splurge a little on extra pillows and the most divine duvet from Old Europe Duvet Co. One word… heavenly.

STEP TWO: Photographs. I dug through our digital files and pulled out some of my favorite photos of the 2 of us. After all, this is OUR space so it should celebrate US. A few inexpensive frames from Walmart and Ta-daaa! I also ordered one of my favorite inspirational quotes from Upper Case Living, framed it, and included it on our wall.

STEP THREE: Candles. I went with battery operated ones…just in case…we wouldn’t want to start a fire.

The end result is this:

There is no doubt about it, our bedroom is officially our favorite room in the house now, so if you’ll excuse me……I have….ummm….someplace that I need to be.

No Way Kathryn!! We have a tv in our bedroom, and I know that the “experts” say that it is a romance killer….but for us it has been a great thing. Think about it….we could either be sitting on opposite sides of the living room watching tv, OR, we could be snuggled under that divine duvet in our birthday suits watching tv. Which do YOU think is more of a romance killer?? Keep the TV. :)

You are welcome Janine! So tell me, which step are you going to follow to add some Za-ZOOM to your bedroom?

I already have a pile of photos sitting and gathering dust. They’ll be added to frames soon! Already have some candles and definitely will work on removing clutter.
