The Endorsement Parents Look For

Go ahead and comment! Our bloggers want to hear from you.

A few weeks ago, I spent 2 weeks test driving the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu for PTPA and let me tell you – it was difficult returning the car at the end of the test period.

Engineered and designed by moms, the 2013 Malibu is a beautiful car – inside and out. While the exterior resembles a sporty luxury sedan, the inside is just as beautiful with leather and wood accents. But the looks weren’t what made me fall in love with the car (although it is a nice bonus!).

Let’s Talk Sound

The minute I got behind the wheel I noticed how smooth the ride was and how extremely quiet it was in the car. I had to double check several times that the car was actually running (stuck my head out the window to listen to the engine – also very quiet).

I have never driven a car this quiet before so it was definitely something I had to get used to. The quietness was really noticeable on the highway – my husband and I could hear every word our kids were saying even though one of them isn’t at the talking stage yet ;) .

Let’s Talk Safety

Like all parents, safety is my number one concern when choosing a car to transport family and friends from place to place and the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is an IIHS Top Safety Pick.

Safety Features that I loved about the Malibu:

•    10 airbags – more than most midsize sedans
•    Glow in the Dark trunk release – just in case your child find him/herself stuck in there after playing with friends
•    Rearview Camera System – No more accidentally running over bikes, toys or anything on the ground. If you have a rough time parking (backing into a spot or parallel parking) like I do, this feature comes in handy.

Let’s Talk Storage

As a parent, I always need lots of trunk space and the Chevrolet Malibu definitely delivered!

Having owned a mid size sedan for many years, I was quite surprised that the Malibu had much more storage space than my old car. A double stroller as well as a single stroller was able to fit in the trunk of the Malibu with still a lot of room to spare.

There’s also a “secret” storage area behind the centre 7 inch touch screen display to store smaller items like phones/wallets etc.

Overall Experience

It’s not a surprise that the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu recently earned the seal and is PTPA approved!

The 2013 Chevy Malibu is a comfortable, functional, stylish and extremely safe vehicle and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a family friendly mid size sedan.

I’m so jealous that you got to test out a car for review purpose. How fun! I didn’t know anything about this car, but you’ve certainly peaked my interest! Great review!
