It’s almost the day after Halloween. You know what that means? There are literally less than two months to Christmas shop. Yes, 54 days. Have I scared you yet? With so little time left, yes that’s right – I said so little time. You should start thinking about the ways that you are going to find the best prices for toys while shopping for Christmas.
Here are five tips to help you save throughout the holiday season:
Keep All of Your Toys R Us Receipts
Toys R Us not only price matches from other stores, but they also guarantee the price for thirty days after you shop. Keep all of your receipts in store for toys and other items that you purchased for at least thirty days. If they go on sale, well, you will get the lower price back via the difference. Check the flyers weekly for items on sale.
Plus, Keep all of Your Costco Receipts
There are some great toys at Costco. I could do like the bulk of my Christmas shopping at Costco. Keep all of your receipts because you also have thirty days after you shop there to get the difference back if the item goes on sale. The item must be in stock and within the thirty days in order to get the money back. Costco has toys that are a good thirty percent off of the regular price of other stores, at least, and has a great selection of toys that they cycle through during the holiday season.
Shop Early and Save
Shop early and save. Not only are all of the great toys going to be gone when it comes to the couple of weeks before Christmas but you are going to want to ease into the Christmas budget buying a few things a week, shopping early to save more while shopping. There are pre-holiday sales for as much as forty to fifty percent off of the regularly priced toys.
Shop Early in Sales
Shopping early in the sale makes sure that you are going to get in on the deal. For popular sales, like the buy one get one free Fisher Price at Toys R Us a couple of weeks ago the shelves were cleared early in the sale. Shopping early is going to make sure that you get the toys you want, at the best prices.
If You Don’t Shop Early, Get a Raincheck
Get a raincheck from the store that is hosting the sale. This is going to enable you to go back after the toy sale is over, and get the lower price of the sale items. This way, you are still going to be able to get the deal. There is still a couple of more months to shop before Christmas so a rain check is going to be a great way to extend the sale and make sure you get the toys on the kiddos wish list.
Plus, one bonus one. If you are shopping for electronic toys and other electronic devices through the holidays know that you can bring in a flyer to Future Shop or Best Buy and they will give you the advertised price + ten percent of the difference. Every little bit helps, right?
