Recently I was asked by the creator of Yoga Match, what the benefits of signing up to have her product tested by PTPA were? Having been a tester for the past few years as well as being a consumer gives me a unique perspective since I have had the chance to help choose some of the PTPA seal winners. I didn’t hesitate to say that getting a product tested by the team of parent reviewers ( there are 60,000 of them across North America) would only be good for her brand.
First and foremost getting a product into the hands of the PTPA team of testers gives you an opportunity for word of mouth advertising. A selection of testers are asked to try out the products and fill out a survey (which you have access to after), but they also are people who have a network of friends in real life and online. I know the first thing I do when I love a product is post it on Facebook and call up my best friend to tell her all about it. If it’s a great product then I want everyone to know about it.
Once your product has been tested and is placed on the PTPA website you have the perfect place for the community to discuss your product further. This gives your brand the chance to engage with testers and parents alike in a new way. Not only does your product get shared on the blog, and through the community of blogaholics, it’s shared across other social media channels, like PTPA’s Facebook and Twitter pages, which maximize your reach. Depending on the level of coverage you want you can get longer and more extensive coverage as well. One of my favourite ways PTPA features award-winning products is when Founder and CEO Sharon Vinderine gets on a Morning show to demonstrate the newest PTPA seal winners. Did you know, she has been on over 55 morning shows including Rachel Ray! Brands can even participate in PTPA’s weekly giveaways and twitter parties which are big fun for everyone.
Getting the PTPA seal is good for any brand since it’s so well recognized. When I go out shopping my eye is instantly drawn towards products that carry the PTPA winner seal. I know that products with that recognizable icon have been well tested, and I always choose a PTPA product over another similar product with no seal. I trust that fellow parents wouldn’t lead me astray when it comes to the needs of my family. Take the IronKids Gummies for example. It’s a product I wouldn’t have necessarily picked up had it not been for the PTPA seal since there are so many gummy vitamins to choose from, but the reviews gave me that initial push and now I wouldn’t buy anything else. The next PTPA award winner that I want to get is the iRobot Roomba. I’m adding it to my Christmas list!
