It’s APPLE season and with the chill in the air, momstown is hitting apple orchards to pick our own fave fruit!  Take your strollers, bundle the kids and set out for some family fun!
The question then becomes — What to do with all these apples???
Whether it’s Macintosh, Spartans, or Honey Crisp, we have gathered some ideas other than just eating them straight up (tip: keep them in a dark, cold place for a long time for munching). Grab your “junior chefs” and get cooking together!¬† There is nothing better than to work with the kids in the kitchen and then enjoy the meal that you made! Best of all, our ideas came straight from other moms and we know you’ll love them!
Homemade Applesauce (enjoy the amazing smell in your kitchen!)
Sounds so yummy! Pull out the crockpot for this delicious spread!
Sneak Them Apples
Apples for Dinner
This is a simple recipe but no joke, it’s been served at MANY momstown harvest tables each fall as the recipe gets searched, used & talked about each season. Great recipe for Thanksgiving or even normal dinners with just for your family. Kids love it as it’s sweet and smells oh so good in your oven!
1 container light cream cheese
1 container apple caramel sauce
4-5 Skor bars or ¬ĺ cup of Skor pieces (bought in the packing in the baking aisle)
Apples, cut-up or fruits of choice (I love the tartness of Granny Apples)
Spread the cream cheese into a serving dish.Pour and smooth the apple caramel sauce on top.
Break the Skor bars into pieces and sprinkle on top. Cut up the apples or fruits of choice and dig in!
