The Endorsement Parents Look For

Go ahead and comment! Our bloggers want to hear from you.

ptpapregnancy 10 Things NOT to Say to a Pregnant MamaThere seems to be a baby surge in my group of friends lately! I thought I would send out a blog post to all you mamas and mamas-to-be to make you laugh (and possibly cringe). These comments were actually said to me either during my first pregnancy or my second with twins – no joke!

1. Stop sticking out your tummy.

2. You know, you don’t have to eat for two now.

3. You’re not going to get fat, are you?

4. Twins?! I would NOT want to be you right now!

5. Twins? So you’re killing two birds with one stone.

6. Are you going to deliver vaginally?

7. You are SO going to go on bed rest!

8. You gained too much weight this month.

9. A death brings a new life (I had just lost someone who meant the world to me)

10. How do you know for sure that you’re pregnant?

I would love to tell you who said what, and you may be able to guess some. Only a few of these comments were from strangers, believe it or not! Thankfully, not one of these comments was from my ever-loving husband!!

Ah, pregnancy. It really brings out the best in people…and their filters go right out the window!

So tell me, what comments have you received that shocked you? I’d love to hear them in a comment below!

Oh my goodness! I wrote a post like this when I was pregnant with Little One! Thanks for sharing this! There are just so many things you should not say to a pregnant mama! LOL! First of all, they’re hormonal! Everything makes pregnant ladies ten times more sensitive! :)
Sharing this now :)

I for one have always hated the “You must be trying for a girl”

I had two boys, “So will you quit if it’s a girl?” My response was “Quit? My job? Why?” lol, Confused the heck out of people.

When I got pregnant with our fourth, people had no idea what to say, so they asked if we were trying for a sister for our daughter.

We had a boy ;)

Now, when I mention that I have four kids, three boys, one girl they ask if the girl was last. Um, Nope. :)

When my husband and I announced that we were expecting our third to his parents they looked shocked and said “We thought you were done…You can handle 3??” WHAT?!?!?
We thought everyone knew we weren’t done at 2 – we even moved into a bigger house so we could have another child, and told people this! We do have a 3 year gap between all our children, and I guess people think if you wait that long, you must be done! lol
I also agree with Veronica, we have two boys already… and EVERYONE says – Hope it’s a girl!! lol I hope it’s healthy! :D
