If you told me a few years ago that I’d use my nursing wear for as long as I have – altogether between two kids, going on 33 months – I’m not sure I’d have believed you. Thank goodness for great breastfeeding tops. Continue reading
While regular, longer workouts are ideal, here are five ways to sneak exercise into your lifestyle when it’s difficult to fit in a consistent gym routine.
The CuddleUppet has changed our lives! A blanket that is a puppet, and one happy child! Looking at this product, you can’t help but laugh. I mean, who would have thought a puppet and a blanket could be friends and actually become a ‘niche’ in today’s toy market? Low and behold! The ‘CuddleUppet’ a combination of a blanket and a puppet. These things are genius! My 3 year old is fixated with his blue elephant and will not go anywhere without it. A best friend that is life sized and ooooohhh soooo cuddly!! Before our CuddleUppet we call, ‘Elephante’ I … Continue reading
I’m sure many parents with a newborn or children have heard of the 5 S’s approach to calming your baby. The 5 S’s are: swaddling side/stomach position swinging sucking shushing I heavily turned to the 5 S’s when Cameron was a newborn through to 9 months of age. He suffered from severe GERD and was always in pain or discomfort. He was a very fussy baby and always needed to be held or soothed. The few calming techniques that worked were breastfeeding (albeit he’d then projectile it all back over me), shushing, rocking and the swing. The swing was something … Continue reading
The internet is full of great (and not so great) ideas. I think one of my favorite things about the Web, is that you learn a lot of awesome, yet random, ideas. One of my favorite reads was How To Use Everyday Objects for other things then they were intended. I’m excited to learn of some of these ideas, but I am a skeptic. I’m the type of person who won’t believe it until I see it. So, I’ve decided to put some of these home remedies to the test for myself. This will be my first official Everyday Object … Continue reading
We introduced a lovey to both my children during infancy. We felt introducing a lovey early on was a great way to inhibit the learning process of self-soothing. It’s a tough transition for little ones to go from womb to the outside world. Once outside the womb, life changes rapidly. The lovey is a great form of security for children. Just remember if you introduce a lovey when your child is an infant to pick a lovely that is smaller in nature to reduce the risk of SIDs. Recently, my daughter had the chance to review CuddleUppets. CuddleUppets are quite … Continue reading
I’ve been a fan of American Girl dolls since I was little and always secretly hoped I would someday own one. While I might be a bit old to get a doll now, my daughter most certainly is not. Lucky for me, she shares my passion for the PTPA winning American Girl dolls and couldn’t be happier that there is a new store just minutes from our home. We’ve gone to visit the store more times than I can count in the past 6 months, mostly because we’re over the moon excited that Seattle is the official home of the … Continue reading
Keeping track of our children’s belongings can be a tough job. My children are constantly misplacing things and they aren’t even in daycare. So I can’t imagine how easy it is to keep on top of your children’s belongings. Between our children forgetting items at daycare and school or swapping them mistakenly with a classmate… how do you remain accountable that your children’s belongings come home with them? I had an opportunity to review “Write Away!” Labels. A new product by Mabels Labels, the award-winning creators of personalized labels for the stuff kids lose.® The “Write Away!” Labels are perfect … Continue reading
