I have a secret to share with you all. I’m kind of lazy. Not really in a lie on the couch all day and do nothing sort of way because, after all, I do have two young children, a blog, a job and a wife. Its really more of a comfort laziness. When my wife asks me what I want to do with the kids on the weekend, I say I’ll think about it but inevitably forget as I get my hands into too many other things. Then we end up just going to the local splash pad for a … Continue reading
Ah, Summer Fun! I know that it’s almost August and that some of you are already looking forward to the back-to-school part of the year! I for one, hate it when summer ends! I saw this bucket list being exchanged on Facebook and other social media networks and I thought what a fun way to spend time doing things with the family! Because of Twitter I have made many great connections with a lot of fascinating and extraordinary people. Laura Berg, the creator and genius behind My Smart Hands, is one of those people. My Smart Hands is a program designed to help parents of hearing children teach their children American Sign Language (or ASL for short) so that they can effectively communicate with their parents before they even learn to talk. Using ASL helps eliminate frustration on both sides, the parents and the children’s perspective, as the parent knows what the child wants and the child is able to communicate to their parent … Continue reading
