In my early days at my current job, while I was new and eager to please, I used to create elaborate home made gifts for our annual Christmas Gift Exchange. They ranged from odd Christmas decorations to calendar’s where every month had a new funny photo of me posing in the office.

The very last thing I ever made before the Christmas party got canceled, was a comic book based on a character I created named “Captain Caffeine”. His powers come from consuming cups of Tim Horton’s coffee. The idea comes from working overnights and consuming tons of Timmies coffee myself.

Anyway, I can’t show you the whole thing because it’s quite long but I wanted to share a little bit with you because I still giggle at it when I read it 8 years later. It starts off with Captain Caffeine wondering why all his co-workers are falling asleep on the job, when he suddenly senses his arch nemesis “The Decaffeinator” nearby!

Captain Caffeine quickly finds the nearest turn-style and transforms into superhero form! You’ll notice the Tim Hortons utility belt, which I mad myself. That’s right, I’ve got crazy utility belt making skills!

The point of the story is that the Decaffeinator was switching all the employees regular Tim Hortons coffee with non Tim Hortons decaf and forcing them all to fall into a deep sleep. After Captain Caffeine powers up using his Tim Hortons coffee from his utility belt, a great fight ensues until finally The Decaffeinator asks Captain Caffeine to join him and rule the world together as partners!

After giving it much thought, Captain Caffeine delivers his answer with devastating accuracy and force! But while tending to his knocked out co-worker, the Decaffeinator manages to get away.

To close out the comic book, I decided, for some strange reason, to go with this super creepy looking picture of me in a Superman like pose. I was so proud of myself once this was all finished, which is kind of funny thinking back on it. I would also like to point out that this did not get me that big promotion I was hoping for, lol.

I’m so glad that we at the PTPA are working with the fine people at Tim Hortons, so I am finally able to show off my masterpiece. I’m more than willing to discuss a multi-million dollar movie trilogy deal. Call me!

I hope you enjoyed this as it wasn’t something I ever planned on sharing with anyone, haha! Have a great day and make sure to stay Caffeinated with Tim Hortons coffee!

Cheers!

  • Ha! I LOVE this post! What a fun comic and how appropriate since we just had our THREE DAY @TimHortons #TweetTuesday?! I’m sure the good people at Tim Horton’s will appreciate this fun post!

All the Tim Horton’s talk for the past few days has got me wanting a #RasFroLem! Getting one tomorrow. I guess that would be today since it’s after midnight!

I am a father to two beautiful children; Lucas is 4 and Julia is 2. They are my reason for being (and blogging). I started my blog, Canadian Dad, as a way to keep a live record of all the little things that so often get forgotten along the way. Blogging has been a very rewarding experience so far and I look forward to being a part of the PTPA team!
