may-the-fourth-yoda May the 4th be with you...A Star Wars Celebration!

Happy Star Wars day!!! Get it… May the Fourth be with you!! I know I know I have problems, but when you watch these movies as much as I have you, you LOVE them.. My son Matthew is a Star Wars fanatic, everyday 2 or more times a day the buzzing of lightsabers and the heavy breathing of Darth Vader was echoed throughout the hallways of my house. But every year hundreds of thousands of people like myself celebrate in all of our geeky glory!!

Usually Star Wars day is celebrated by wearing T shirts and slinging witty Star wars puns at each other, But having kids who love this movie I have come up with creative ways to make it fun for Matt and my other 2, even though the teen won’t admit he enjoys it. Tomorrow instead of celebrating the ABC countdown at his school Matthew will be wearing his favorite Star Wars gear, I’m all prepped for making Darth Vader head pancakes, and while hes at school I’ll be baking up Yoda green force cakes ( cupcakes).

A little history, Star Wars is an epic series of space films created by George Lucas. It has become a worldwide phenomenon branching out to toys, books, clothing, cartoons, heck I could go on for hours. May the 4th be with you was a phrase used in The London Evening news when Britains Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was elected in 1979 stating “May the fourth be with you Maggie” And it has just caught on since then.

In 2011, the first organized celebration of Star Wars Day took place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the Toronto Underground Cinema. Festivities included an Original Trilogy Trivia Game Show; a costume contest with celebrity judges; and the web’s best tribute films, mash-ups, parodies, and remixes on the big screen. Also last year the announcement of the Star Wars saga being released on Blu Ray dvd was announced. The second annual Star Wars day is scheduled to take place on Friday, May 4, 2012
So bring out your light sabers, call all of your bounty hunter friends and celebrate Star Wars day like you are partying on Tatooine!!! May the Force be with you!!!!
