Avengers-Chris-300x300 Watch Out! The Dads Are Coming!

That’s Right! I Said It!

With the addition of Dan from DadDoes yesterday and now myself, we have set our plan in motion to overtake the PTPA brand and turn it into a place for Dads (and Non-Dad Males) to kick back, relax and watch hockey. Sure, we’ll still contact brands and all the other good stuff that goes on here but the brands will be limited to Beer companies, Video Game manufacturers and movie studios that make Super Hero flicks. Muahahaha!!! Just Kidding! Or am I….

About My Family:

I am father to two wonderful children, ages 2 & 4, who are my heart & soul. I work full time for a living but the shift I pull allows me to be home a lot with my family. My wife runs a daycare (not easy work btw) so I get a chance to go on a lot of adventures alone with my kids, which I love. We love to dress up in costumes….okay, I love to dress up in costumes….but the kids love watching me dressed up in costumes! We have a ton of fun as a family and I couldn’t be happier with the cards I’ve been dealt!

What About Me?

I have a lot of passions. I sing in a band. I run a charity called the Gil Read Memorial Foundation. It’s something we started when my Dad passed, as a way to give back to the kids in our community. I love writing. That was one of the reasons I started blogging. I think it’s great that someday we are going to be able to look back on all the posts and laugh at the things the kids did when they were just toddlers. I did a looooong interview with a website called Dad of Divas that pretty much covers anything you would want to know about me and my thoughts as a Dad. You can find it here! You’ll also learn about how I met my wife at a Karaoke Bar. Yep, that’s right!

What Do I Bring To The PTPA Table?

I am a social creature. Being social is like my oxygen in that I need to interact with people in order to keep myself busy. I know what you’re thinking, “But Chris, you have a FT job, kids, a band and a charity to run. How could you need More to keep you busy?” The answer is simple. I have no idea. My motor doesn’t seem to have an off switch and that’s just the way it is. So if you see me on Twitter, please stop by and say hi!

See. I just typed four lines in the “What do I bring to the table” segment but never answered the question, LOL. In all seriousness, I’m extremely proud to be a member of the PTPA, even prouder to be a Blogaholic and I hope I can contribute something a little different by blogging, reviewing and interacting from a Dad’s point of view. I know that Mom’s and Dad’s aren’t that different but there are still differences and I think your followers will appreciate getting their info from all types of angles.

Connect With Me!

Like I mentioned, I love interacting with everyone! If you feel so inclined, you can check me out on Twitter (This is where I live) @CanadianDadBlog or on my Facebook Page. My blog is Canadian Dad, where I love posting about my kids. In case you still didn’t see enough of me, I also write for The Life of Dad and help with running their Facebook and Twitter account @LifeOfDadShow.

See, I have no off button….I look forward to connecting with all of you and can’t wait to get started!!

Cheers!!
Chris

Welcome to the team Chris! MY husband is on board in testing Video games with you, although he is still old school and playing Madden ’98!

Ah, and so the revolution begins… The Dads sneak in like Ninjas and take over. Wait, people are reading what Chris and I have said? Well that really kills the whole sneaky Ninja thing. I guess we go with plan B – trying to be productive members of the PTPA community…without destroying it in the process!

Wow, thanks for the great reception! I’m happy to be here and can’t wait to join in on the fun!
Sharon, there’s nothing wrong wit Madden ’98, that’s the last one before they ruined it. I still have my old Nintendo so I can play Baseball Stars!
Dan, don’t worry about our plan being outed, none of the women think we’ll follow through with it anyway…they may be right!

Have a great day all!

I am a father to two beautiful children; Lucas is 4 and Julia is 2. They are my reason for being (and blogging). I started my blog, Canadian Dad, as a way to keep a live record of all the little things that so often get forgotten along the way. Blogging has been a very rewarding experience so far and I look forward to being a part of the PTPA team!
