Hi everyone! My name is Maya and I’m so excited to join this great community of parents at PTPA. I had spent ten years in the Corporate world and decided to “climb up the ladder” and become CEO of all things Kyle (my son) when he was born. Sure, my new boss is very demanding, keeping me awake at all hours of the day and he’s a terrible communicator, crying more than I do. But I do get paid in tons of hugs and kisses, so it’s definitely worth it!
I was one of the first in our group of friends to have a child and I found myself opening up about the trials and tribulations of becoming a mom. In fact, I had so much to say on the topic that I decided to write a blog about the ups and downs of all things motherhood (www.mayahoodblog.com). Currently, we know almost 20 people who are expecting between now and November. My friends are constantly asking me for advice on all things baby including pregnancy, labour, parenting, nursing, baby products, toys, accessories, programs, etc… I find that by writing about my experience through my blog, I can let my friends know what our experience has been like without repeating myself over and over again.
Of course everyone’s experience is different, and that’s what I love about PTPA. Parents from all over can share their own personal experience with other moms and dads and we can all learn from one another and hopefully find someone or something that we can relate to.
My husband John and my son Kyle and I live in Riverdale, Toronto. To keep sane, I attend classes with Kyle (who is 19 months old now) on a daily basis and find cool, family friendly coffee shops, playgrounds, stores and parks to keep us busy the remainder of the day. I love exploring the city while bonding with and teaching Kyle about the world around us.
Hope you join me on my adventures of all things motherhood and otherwise. I can’t wait to read all about yourselves and some of the great products we get to test!
