In a little less than 6 months I will be in San Francisco trying to relax before I run my first half marathon. Yes I know that’s 21.1 kilometers in a very hilly city. The longest distance I have ever run at one time is 7 kilometers so this is a big challenge for me. It is for such a great cause and this will be motivation to train and get across the finish line (also there will be firemen in tuxedos!). As part of the Team in Training for The Leukemia &Lymphoma Society of Canada I will participate in the Nike Women’s Marathon, A Race to Benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on October 14, 2012.
It will be a long training schedule but nothing compared to what people must go through battling these diseases. By completing this run I will be contributing to this organization. I hope you come back to see my progress, what tips and training advice I have discovered and what new products I have uncovered during this journey.
I will be honest the fundraising scares me more than the running!
Stay tuned
Tracey
