Inernational-Womens-Day-2011 Happy International Womens Day Happy International Women’s Day to all the Strong and Inspirational Women!

Originally called International Working Women’s Day, is marked on March 8 every year.  In different regions the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women to a celebration for women’s economic, political and social achievements.

I think Women’s Day should be something celebrated and recognized more often than one day a year (well, aside from Mother’s Day this is the only other day for all women).

I am so blessed to have not just been raised and surrounded by such dynamic and inspirational  women such as my Mom, Grandma, Aunts and Good Friends, but also along my pathway in life, been  placed in opportunities to meet even more wonderful and motivating women — both in my career and personal voyage.

The one thing we women need to start to doing, is continuing to inspire and motivate one other.

This is something that I see such a lack of in this day and age.  Where women want to succeed in their endeavours, but in a “step all over you to get what I want” kinda way (sadly without notice most times).

Whatever happened to support? Let’s continue to do this and build a world of strong yet motivating and empathetic women.

Let’s use this day and each day moving forward to help build character and strength in every person we come across.

Who is the most inspiring and strongest woman in your life?

I like this post very much.
I think stressing importance of women supporting other women is a very crucial point in building a world filled with more confident and happy women.
It’s very true that in our society of women, this has become a dog-eat-dog world.
Very detrimental.

The most inspiring and strongest woman in my life, aside from my mom of course, was my former university professor who also became a good friend and a mentor while I started my career.

My mother, grandmother and older sister have been the biggest source of inspiration and my definition of strength.
They have always taught me to live and love, to be a source of inspiration to others and most importantly, how to be an amazing and loving mum.

My MOM! Who else? :)
She’s taught me everything I know.

Great post and reminder about supporting one another. It’s a silent issue most definitely.

Happy International Womens Day to all!

My sister. She practically raised me and my siblings when my mother and father passed away.
She continued to be there for us even after having a family her own and as we all grew to have our families and separate lives.

She battled and beat breast cancer last year and never have I seen such strength and positive light than when she was going through her own battle.

I love her to death.

Wishing all the women that choose happiness and love over negativity and hatred a very Happy International Women’s Day!

Support each other!

My Nonna (Grandma) and Mom.
