Um yea so you may have noticed I have been a little absent. You see I went on this fab trip with my family, discovering the world and spending quality time together.
I WISH! So we didn’t travel around the world but I do have a great excuse for my absenteeism and missing out on all of the PTPA fun! BABY #2 is on their way and she, yes I said SHE, will be coming into our lives sometimes at the end of March. So you are probably thinking, great another baby, but why haven’t you been blogging? You see I am one of the very small percentage of women who suffer from hyperemesis. The horrible condition that invites non stop nausea and vomiting everyday, all day, and makes pregnancy seem like it lasts forever!
We found out about this pregnancy by me feeling nauseous before it even showed up on a pregnancy test and from that day on I knew that this pregnancy would be similar to the last. The kind of pregnancy where you hope the nausea and vomiting only lasts the first trimester, then it sneaks into the second trimester and you pray that it may only be a few more weeks of feeling horrible. Then comes the part where you learn to embrace and accept it. You enjoy the little flutters and kicks but also start the countdown of how many more days of vomiting.
With this being my second time around I have found some things that help me through my days. My husband is absolutely wonderful and is extremely supportive. He jokes that he now understands how hard single parents work everyday as there have been many days weeks where I was too sick to function. Just recently I have been finding a bit more energy and have been managing to eat certain things. There were many days I would spend the whole day in my bed or on the couch with the little guy coming in for snuggles, read books together and sharing toddler kisses before heading out for more fun play with daddy!
After losing 18lbs in 18 weeks, I am now coming up on 24 weeks, and it seems I am starting to get into a routine where I can function more throughout the day. So with fingers crossed that I continue to eat in small bursts and that the next 16 weeks fly by. I am excited to meet our little girl. I am also excited that…..I’m BAAAACK!!!
Cheers!
