Please allow me to introduce myself… My name is Laura Berg, I’m the founder of My Smart Hands™. I have an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Child Studies a Master’s of Education and a certificate in ASL and
Deaf Studies. My You Tube channel is in the top 40 of all of Canada, my Facebook group is the largest baby signing Facebook group! I have successfully pitch My Smart Hands™ on the CBC’s Dragon’s Den. I am now excited to be a part of the PTPA panel of bloggers!
And now a brief interview with PTPA!
PTPA: When did you start blogging?
Laura: I started blogging in Winter 2010.
PTPA: How did you hear about PTPA Media
Laura: A friend of mind suggested that I submit my baby sign language program to it. After much research I decided that it would be a valuable ‘stamp of approval’ for my business. I submitted my product and got the seal! Then I was invited to start blogging for PTPA
PTPA: What does the PTPA Seal of Approval mean to you?
Laura: When parents are looking for products or classes to take they either look for a referral from a friend or expert. The great thing about getting the approval of PTPA is it’s like a friend and an expert referring my stuff. I know that it gives my products tons of credibility. Parents and stores look for that type of quality products for their families.
PTPA: What is your favorite PTPA winner?
Laura: Me! LOL just kidding! I love the Kids Gummies, they are a great way to make sure my children get all the vitamins they need. I especially love the calcium as my son doesn’t eat or drink much of anything with calcium in it. At least this way I know he’s getting what he needs while I try to encourage his eating habits.
PTPA: How many kids do you have?
Laura: Two, a 5 year old and a 2 year old.
PTPA: What makes your blog unique?
Laura: I talk about baby sign language and give tips to parents to help them be more successful on their signing endeavor.
PTPA: If you could describe yourself in 5 words what would they be?
Laura: Kind, compassionate, sensitive, intelligent and innovative.

Would you like to win a Cloud B Twilight Turtle or a Twilight Ladybug prize? Of course you do!
The Twilight Turtle and Ladybug each help ease children’s fear of the dark by projecting a starry night sky onto room ceilings and walls. Julie Cole and Leanne. I love their reviews on products. Especially Julie’s because my family loves to pass things around so it’s good to know that it’ll work child after child

I like laura because i also have found signing to kids to be very rewarding!
I like many of the PTPA bloggers, but Heather Hamilton stands out to me. It was right around the time that I subscribed to the PTPA newsletter that Heather lost her precious son Zack. I think that just made me feel somehow connected to her and I’ve followed ever since.
My favorite PTPA Blogaholic is Julie Cole. I always love to read her articles since she has six kids! I found that it’s amazing she can take care of six kids while managing her own business. It’s fun to read her articles.
