IMG-20110724-00043 Check out the new and improved Indigo KidsDid you know that Indigo has recently remodeled their children’s book section in certain stores? I didn’t, but was lucky enough to receive a gift card from this PTPA winner and got to check it out with my family.

I myself am not a huge bookworm but my boys are. Baseball and books are the two “B’s” in our house and even our little one loves flipping through picture books.

The new children’s section is a huge upgrade over the previous version with a clear division from the rest of the store and is located right next to the pre-teen / teen section that our 7-year-old kept wandering over to. The remodeling in bright colours caught the eye of our 16-month-old right away and he couldn’t wait to get to it and start exploring.

IMG-20110724-00053 Check out the new and improved Indigo KidsIt’s big, bright and there’s so much to see and do for kids. Not only is it chock-full of a wide variety of books, there are toys, a creative design, and cozy seating to curl up with a good book and relax.

It’s also much better organized than the previous kids section which always seemed like you were on a treasure hunt versus being at a bookstore. It’s now far easier to find what you are looking for despite being much bigger in size.

IMG-20110724-00061 Check out the new and improved Indigo KidsCarson, the discerning book critic that he is, chose the challenging “Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb” by Dr. Seuss while Logan picked up “Hothead” about an ill-tempered young baseball player and a Justin Bieber book. They could barely wait to crack them open on the way home.

Our family spends a lot of time in Chapters and Indigo and it’s nice that the new kids section is so welcoming and kid-friendly (as it should be). We definitely give this redesign two thumbs way up!

For a full list of renovated locations, be sure to check out the Indigo Kids website.

My oldest hasn’t picked up anything yet, but he would totally spend his money on the new Rick Riordan series since he loved the Percy Jackson series so much (I already liked Indigo and PTPA on FB as Jennifer Porter Rayment)

No books for school picked up yet. We are just heading into kindergarten and we’d use the gift certificate for some early readers as my son is just chomping at the bit to learn to read and loves those books.

I’m already a (HUGE!) fan of both your Facebook pages. I think I’d pick up a few train books for our train-obsessed six year old. I’m not talking the kiddie book ones, the ones in the adult section under reference, he’s obsessed with the mechanics of steam, diesel and maglev trains!

33. Kiki said on Aug 26th, 2011 at 9:53 am
