A Safe Way To Get Your 8 Glasses A DayWhile theoretically I know that tap water is safe to drink, psychologically I still have a hard time doing it. I seriously can’t remember the last time I filled up a glass of tap water and started chugging. And I certainly hate giving it to the kids.

But by the same token, I hate drinking bottled water. It’s terrible for the environment, and the bottles aren’t BPA-free, so again, I hate giving it to the kids.

This is why I was thrilled when I got the opportunity to test the EPS 1000 water filter system thru PTPA. The EPS 1000 is a compact, undermount water purification system that filters your tap water so you can ensure you and your family aren’t being exposed to harmful chemicals and bacteria in your drinking water.

From the manufacturer:

This microbiological drinking water purification system – made using Extruded Carbon Block technology- is certified to meet or exceed the EPA requirement for the removal of bacteria including E-coli, viruses and cysts such as giardia and cryptosporidia without ultraviolet technologies. The EPS 1000 can be installed on both municipal and well water supplies.

At first I was skeptical that the water wouldn’t taste as good as bottled water. But I was pleasantly surprised. In fact, I like it better. It tastes pure (not like some of the bottled water out there that fizzes when you pop the cap – not naming any names) and it’s even kid-approved.
