I am always looking for new cloth diapers to try out with my little man. It has become a little bit of an obsession. We have many different brands of cloth diapers which include pocket diapers, all in ones, prefolds, fitteds, covers, etc.  I was excited to find out that a local Ottawa mom has jumped into the cloth diaper business.
Sophie Gratton wanted to make cloth diapers that fixed some of her pet peeves from when she cloth diapered her children.  She wanted a trim diaper, that was leak free, made in Canada and of course affordable. PTPA Award Winning MiniMaestro diapers are made in Montreal. The manufacturer is a non-profit organization that fights poverty and violence and ensures it provides fair working environments and wages. The manufacturer’s mission is to help people, mostly immigrant women, single, unemployed or living on welfare.
Knowing that MiniMaestro diapers are made in Canada, with all North American materials, in a fair working environment makes a smile appear on my face each and every time I put it on my baby. I will be honest that I am always hesitant when trying out a velcro diaper. My main issue is that many of the ones I have tried in the past come undone in the laundry and stick to all my other diapers. Overtime this pulls on the fabric and they tend not to last as long. The first time I washed my MiniMaestro diaper I folded over the velcro tabs and put it in the wash. When it came out it was still together! I was still a little skeptical so I put it through the wash a few more times. It continued to stay together through the wash and dryer. I was sold on the quality of this velcro. the soft micro fleece inside the diaper is ever so soft against my little boys skin and the form-fitting elastic around the legs has yet to cause a leak. The diaper is very absorbent and we have used it for daytime and nighttime use. The diaper is also trim and does not add a lot of bulk under my little mans clothes. I find some diapers we use add extreme bulk and now that babe is moving around and sitting up it can be uncomfortable for him. The MiniMaestro diapers are a wonderful fit, nice and trim.
MiniMaestro offers great bundles, whether you are just dabbling in cloth diapering, or want to jump right in with two feet (which I highly recommend!) there is something for everyone. They are affordable and cloth diapering is much cheaper than using disposables in the long run.
The next time we are in the market for new diapers I will be heading over to MiniMaestro to make a purchase or two
