fan_fridays_v4d FAN FRIDAY! VTech MobiGo...WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT!

The MobiGo Touch Learning System….. Have you heard of it? If not, you will! I have a feeling that the new MobiGo by VTech is going to be all the rage.

My son received the MobiGo for review a couple of days ago and he hasn’t stopped playing it since. Okay, maybe once or twice to eat or sleep. It is designed for children age 3-7. He is almost three and a half and is doing great figuring it out. Probably even better than his old mama.

The MobiGo is a handheld portable device, much like other educational gaming products you may have seen. The difference with VTech’s new MobiGo are the touch screen and full qwerty keyboard features. The keyboard is hidden nicely underneath the screen. When it’s needed, your child simply slides the top screen back for full access to the qwerty keyboard.

VTech has made it possible for the MobiGo to connect to the computer with the included USB cable. This allows your child to upload their scores to receive awards and download extras.

The best part about the MobiGo is that they have incorporated learning with fun. The cartridges (which are sold separately) teach children things like math, vocabulary, spelling, logic and categorization. The graphics are fun and clear and the sounds are easy to understand and entertaining.

With family vacations coming up, MobiGo is the perfect Touch Learning System for on the go. It even comes with a headphone jack in case you are in close quarters like a car or airplane.
MobiGo FAN FRIDAY! VTech MobiGo...WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT!Clueless Conclusions:

NAY!:
It is hard for me to come up with anything negative to say about VTech products. In my opinion, VTech is an amazing company that produces inventive and exciting new products for children. I am anxious to see how the touch screen technology holds up to being dropped. Since we have only had the product for a couple of days now, I don’t know how it will do. Let’s face it, when you have children, things get dropped. I am sure it won’t be long before I can give you feedback on that.

The only other thing we have had an issue with is my son misplaced the cartridge for the game. It turns out that little sister had confiscated it, so it was found and all was well in the universe again.
Photobucket

 YAY!:
As I have already said, I am a fan of VTech and the products they offer. They always seem to make products that my children enjoy. The MobiGo is no exception! It seems to be very durable and has rubberized grips on the side that make it easy for little hands to hang onto.

I have not always been sure about products becoming so technical for kids at a young age, but I am learning it is definitely the way of the future. My son has been dragging and dropping on the computer since before he was two. So while I still feel it is important to teach reading and writing without spell check being readily available all the time, I also understand the importance of allowing my children to keep up with technology. It will definitely benefit them in the long run. The MobiGo is a great choice for allowing just that.

I don’t know about your kiddos, but mine are obsessed with my iPhone. The MobiGo has the same touch screen features made for kids. It also teaches them about using a keyboard which will be beneficial for school.

The additional cartridges they have created seem to be ones that kids will relate to. Examples are Dora the Explorer, Toy Story 3 and Shrek Forever After. Each cartridge has a different age group it is geared towards.
Overall so far I can’t think of a reason a child wouldn’t enjoy the MobiGo by VTech. I have to be honest, even I enjoy playing it with my son.

It sells for $59.99 with additional cartridges priced at $19.99. You can also purchase a case for the MobiGo to protect it when it’s not being used. It retails for $14.99.

3. Erin said on Dec 10th, 2010 at 1:24 pm

My child and I have played with her VSmile, baby Vtech computer and others since she was barely toddling. I credit VTech with her ability now at the age of 6 to read on a 6th grade level. The VTech products are well made and so educational, yet fun for the kids at the same time. We have spent countless hours with using all our VTech products, from the VSmile to to VMotion.

Is this open to the US, also?

I liked VTech Canada on FB (andrea potter kruse)

We have several VTech products in our home… my son loves his V.Reader and is learning vocabulary with it. It is fun to sit with him while he is clicking on words and give him new sentences using the word.

We bought the Learning Time Clock and my son loves it. It teaches him how to tell time in both formats, has a calendar and movable hands. VTech has a lot of great products that help your child learn and grow!

8. Caroline Hoffman said on Dec 10th, 2010 at 1:28 pm

I liked you on facebook. I do not have this product but would love to have it. My son loves to play with his VSmile. He has a younger sister he has been teaching how to play. So having something like this to take on trips and vacations would occupy the kids so that we can get to our destinations safely without interuptions and or fighting. My son also learned many things on his vsmile so I am sure he will learn things on this vteck.

9. Laura said on Dec 10th, 2010 at 1:29 pm

Wow thanks for the great giveaway!! My daughter has played with VTech toys since she was little and now plays with her V.Motion almost daily. Her favorite is the wonder pets game which has taught her to count, recognize colours and maneuver the controls. Lots of fun, and a little birdie told me that Santa is bringing the Mickey V.Motion game for Christmas (shh, top secret)!!!

I’m a longtime fan of VTech Canada on facebook (Abby Smith)

13. Amber Smith said on Dec 10th, 2010 at 1:38 pm

My oldest son is almost 3 so we haven’t had a chance to try out any of the vtech products yet. Would love to see him try out the mobigo!

I like Vtech Canada.

My kids and I love Vtech toys for our “electronics” time. They are both fun and educational.

15. Melissa said on Dec 10th, 2010 at 1:42 pm

My husband is a pretty big video fanatic. We have a PS3 and a Wii. When my daughter sees my husband playing video games, naturally she wants to play too. We decided that we should buy her a video gaming system that we can play with together, and we also wanted something that was educational. We bought my daughter a V Baby learning system. We have our half hour of play daily, and I don’t feel like a horrible mother for letting her letting her play video games, because V Baby is nothing but educational! She loves playing the Backyardigans game (And I’ll admit, I like it too!) Such a great system :)

It is so amazing to see at 12 mos, how quickly he learned to put the blocks in the right place & we all sing along with the train!!! My niece & nephew have this too. Between our families, we have 3!!! We love Vtech & would love this item too!!!!

I like VTech on Facebook! My eldest is almost 9, and I even used VTech toys when she was little. The family favorite was an electronic book where you had to find things with a magic wand thing.

We’ve had VTech products since my oldest (7) was little! They just keep getting better! Would love to have this for my little girl for Christmas, maybe then she’d stop stealing my iPhone! Ha ha! She would also love it because she could play hera while brother plays his DS!! so cool.

22. Katy Brown said on Dec 10th, 2010 at 2:10 pm

My daughter (who is 4 now) have a vtech toy when she was younger that would tell her the colors of things and the shapes and even thought this wasn’t a very “technical” toy I still wanted to try out all of the other competition to see what I liked best. And vtech DEFINITELY came out on top with just the CLARITY of sound. I mean, what’s the point of buying a toy that helps teach my daughter colors and shapes if she can’t even understand the word GREEN, and she starts calling it REEM lol, so I am a fan of vtech. It has been a while since we have had a vtech and we were up in the air about the mobigo or the leapster 2 but it would be AMAZING to win this one. :)

23. Kristin said on Dec 10th, 2010 at 2:11 pm

My son and I have played with his cousins Vtech and he just has a ball with it. It is the best of both worlds, fun for him and educational too! :)

Vtech allows a child to be “techy” just like mom and dad without getting too complicated. Vtech gives you the whole deal here: Education and parent interaction, and fun.

28. Debbie W said on Dec 10th, 2010 at 2:31 pm

We have played with many of their toys like scout and the alphapet wheel. It has helped my son with his ABC”s

I gave my son the Rhyme and Discover book when he was about 8 months old. He is now 2.5 and still loves it. I loved the read and sing the nursery rhymes to him, and his favourite activity was pushing the buttons and turning the pages to hear the sounds.

30. Heather said on Dec 10th, 2010 at 2:34 pm

Hoping US is okay. My kids used to have the VTech VSmile system. I homeschool and any extra help I can get is great. This helped them out with math skills using Spiderman. We also used to be able to rent games from the library which was awesome. I don’t know if they have this where we’ve moved to :( .

31. Milcah said on Dec 10th, 2010 at 2:35 pm

I would love to get this for my daughter. Right now she has the vtech computer and loves it. It is such an educational toy plus she can play games at the same time. I love vtech products. When my 2 older children were young, they recieved the vtech game console (the orange 1 with the toggle controller) and loved it. they had about 10 games that they would play daily. I really think it taught them a lot because when they went to kindergarden, the teacher said that they already knew most of what she was teaching at the beginning of the year.

41. Jessica Estrada said on Dec 10th, 2010 at 3:54 pm

We do not have any vtech toy in our household but my son loves to play with the learning truck when visiting his cousins. The hammering part makes it attractive for him but the songs keep him engaged.

42. Lisa Giampa said on Dec 10th, 2010 at 3:55 pm

We have the VMotion and my kids love the games but find them hard to use with the motion controllers. Other then that we have no prior exposure to VTech that I know of.

51. Kelly said on Dec 10th, 2010 at 5:20 pm

My daughter loves her vtech alphabet toy that I got for her three years ago. At first, she loved to dance to the tunes. Now she’s four and loves the games on it! It’s very interactive and makes it fun for us to play together. Even I play the games, lol!

52. Jaclyn Edwards said on Dec 10th, 2010 at 5:30 pm

I like vtech on Facebook Julia G. We have been fans of them for a long time. We used to have the v smile system and we learned the alphabet and how to play together and how to be a good winner and loser with it. Vtech is awesome.

53. Julia said on Dec 10th, 2010 at 6:03 pm

with all the new technology that has come out to help the children learn, I was a little concerned that they would not learn as much as I could teach them. Boy was I wrong, not only does it keep them entertained but they are learning as they play. We have the Vtech Write & Learn Letter Pad, with 2 kindergartners in the house, this is a must for the kids that are having trouble learning to write out their letters. I can see their confidence growing and as improved their fine motor skills. Yep makes my day whey I see that smile as they accomplish a new thing.

One of David’s first toys I bought him was the vtech Learn & Discover Driver. That is his favourite toy of all time. He has many toys as most babies/kids do but this toy is one he always goes back to daily. He loves the ABC’s song it plays. It teaches him his ABC’s.

VTech toys have always been A+ toys at our house, and after reading the blogs above we definitely now must add the MobiGo to the top of our wish list! What I love about VTech toys as a a parent is how they seem to grow with my kids – the same toy can be hours of fun at age 2, and by age 4 they’ve simply unlocked more of the features and ways to use it. And who can forget their durability. These toys are made kid tough. They can handle all the falls, smashes, abuse and toddler spills that my kids throw at them! Great toys, serious entertainment & learning packed into VTech.

68. Jennifer said on Dec 11th, 2010 at 1:02 pm

My 2 older children have always been excited when thye got a new game for there v smiles. They have played it so much that my youngest child never got to play with it before it stopped working. I have thought about investing in another vtech toy but have the worries that in 6mn-1yr it will not function anymore. I would really like to try out this new item with my youngest son and regain my trust in the vtech toys.

69. tera said on Dec 11th, 2010 at 7:36 pm

Vtech is awesome! My son learned not only from the toys and products we have here, but also from the ones at the homes of friends and family and at school and NOW my daughter is learning from them. The products are long lasting through the rough play of babies and toddlers all the way up to preschool and beyond and then are still in fabulous condition when they get passed on to the next generation of little ones! I love all watching my kids sing along with a counting or ABC vtech toy, or sit down together (toddler and kindergardener) and play together, giggling and going crazy over the silliness as they learn. Our favorite vtechs over the years are the move and crawl ball and pull and learn car carrier.

70. Tara said on Dec 12th, 2010 at 5:09 am

My very young JK son was struggling with learning his letters and numbers. VTech’s products help him, from his Follow-Me Writer where he can practice writing letters to when he was younger using the V-Baby system! We are a huge fan of V-Tech!

71. Tara W said on Dec 12th, 2010 at 9:35 am

I think this system would be a wonderful start to decoding & phonemic awareness for my 4 year old, but even better for my emerging reader. I think spending the time with my kids and having this literacy tool would help improve my kids overall love of reading :)

My son has the VTech 3 in 1 Zebra. Starts as a push walker ends as a scooter. He started using it as a push walker to walk himself everywhere. Now (2 weeks later) he is walking by himself! Of course he still loves to play with his Zebra. He pushes the buttons and looks at me as if to say “Mommy, did you see that? I made that happen!” And then he dances to the music.

I liked you on facebook.

My daughter loves her V-tech laptop, she has learned her ABC’s from it. She loves to pretend that she is me on my laptop. It is so cute. She wonder though why mine doesn’t talk or sing when I hit the buttons.

I like Vtech on FB. Vtech is a great company with reasonably priced kids toys. We have a phone that has made it through 2 kids with only one battery change in 3 years. This would be a great prize to win…thanks for the chance.

We’ve had a few Vtech products and I love how they’re so interactive and easy to use. They’re the one ‘toy’ that’s not gender specific so both my son and daughter can use them!
