One of my best friends who is a hard working mother posted this on her facebook and I had to share it will all of you. This is a great explanation of exactly what us stay at home moms do all day because sadly, I have been asked this question before. I feel insulted and not sure exactly how to answer because no matter what you say, that person will not understand or he/she wouldn’t have asked it in the first place. Prior to being a SAHM I was in sales, made amazing money and worked 12 sometimes 13 hour days. My husband and I both decided that I would stay at home while the kids (hope to have more) grow up. Being at home with my daughter is the hardest job I have ever had. I often think, how and why did I give up my career but then think, my career will always be there in a couple of years when I decide to go back. Isabella is only a child once.
Love this article and will now read this every time I’m having “one of those days” and actually have time to myself. Sometimes you just need to hear how great of a job your doing. :p

As a mom protection is key when heading to the pool or at the beach. The solar system is getting worse by the minute and the UV rays are stronger and stronger. Knowing Isabella and I were going to be spending the weekends on the beach I was looking for a bathing suit with full coverage. UVSkinz came to the rescue. With UPF 50+ UV protection woven into the fabric gives me a piece of mind when Isabella is running around in the sun. I know she is protected and after using this suit for half of the summer already, I can say we have had NO BURNS!! I also love that there is a built-in swim liner for added protection for no need of swim bottoms or diapers. If you insist on using a swim diaper just in case of a accident, there is plenty of room. I use them under Isabella’s shorts and she seems to be comfortable and not bothered by them. The fabric has a Chlorine resistant treatment for long lasting wear and has flat-lock stitching throughout the entire garment to eliminate irritating seams. We love this suit so much we are buying a second set for the rest of the summer UVSkinz is Sealed with Approval by Baby & Momma!

UVSkinz is great for the whole family. Check out bucket hats, accessories, baby, kids or adult skins HERE!
*Tune in later this week for a Giveaway!
Come on over to Babymommablog.com to watch my video review of Isabella running around in her Skin and featured details.

We have had a bunch of visitors lately on our second floor window ledge of the Office/playroom. We have seen them so much we have named them, Larry & Lucy Ledgerson’s. When I say a bunch, they have kids too but would love for you to help us name their two children. We are looking for fun names that start with the letter L but have yet to come up with any and would love our readers (you) to help! Let us know your thoughts
Anywho, I’m sure these flying friends have a home somewhere in city but we decided we wanted to make them feel right at home when they come visit the Bucci family. We want them to be comfortable and eat well so…… we have made them a homemade Bird Feeder, all made from things in our home. The only thing we didn’t make was the birdseed. We bought that at Wal-Mart. We also want them to stay longer than they have been. Every time one flies up, I go to pick Isabella up, they get scared and fly away. This will help us enjoy each others company a little longer :p Unfortunately the Ledgerson’s haven’t stayed long enough for us to get a picture but I’m hoping to update this post soon.

As a mom you want to know what the best is out there for your little one. The problem I have found is so much changes so quickly. PTPA selects a few products every quarter to keep you in the loop about what Moms love. The PTPA Media 2010 Summer Campaign Winners have been announced! Each product is tested by the panel and either approved or not based on the feedback provided. I really enjoy being a part of this Panel and want to share with you the “hot” products on our list for Summer. Congratulations to all the Summer Campaign Winners!
Below are a few of my favorites but don’t stop there, click here to see the whole list!

Dyson continues to engineer better technology with the latest Dyson Ball upright vacuum, DC25 Animal. Other vacuums use four fixed-wheels that move in straight lines, so changing direction is awkward. Dyson’s Ball™ technology replaces traditional fixed wheels with a rotating ball allowing the machine to steer smoothly with a turn of the wrist. Designed for homes with pets, DC25 Animal is ideal for animal lovers frustrated with stubborn pet hair.

Baby Banquet is a BPA Free baby food holder which makes feeding time easy and safe. This versatile dispenser is great for traveling as food, snacks, spoon and bib can all be stored in your Baby Banquet. It is great for toddlers too as a juice box plus snacks can be safely stored all in your Baby Banquet. One stop feeding!

Nestled in a whimsical box, the Tooth Fairy Kit features a one-of-a-kind, hand crafted Baby Tooth Keepsake Box containing our Baby Tooth Organizer to organize and cherish baby teeth, and a Baby Tooth Chart for parents to keep track of their child’s developing smile. For kids, there is a Baby Tooth Pouch to place under the pillow, Tooth Fairy Stationery to write an unforgettable letter and a magical Tooth Fairy Door Hanger that reminds the Tooth Fairy to stop by!

Happy 40th Birthday, Earth Day! Not that we don’t on most days but today the Bucci’s are making a extra, extra effort to help save our Earth. Most people are making the effort to save our Earth due to the evidence that the decisions we have made, and continue to make, are damaging the air we breathe and the land we live on. If I raise Isabella with the habits of living “green”, she will most likely follow in our footsteps to live a green life.
Most of these efforts we, Anthony, Isabella and I, are making to be Green I know a lot of others are too. If your not, take a look at this list and try to make a effort. This is only helping our future generations!

- Start using re-usable grocery bags instead of plastic. It’s so easy and believe it or not, I have found groceries a lot easier to carry.
- Cut your shower time in half. I use to love standing in the hot shower to wake me up in the morning. Now I make a effort to be in and out!
- Save stained or clothes you are going to throw away as your cleaning cloth. I have a full basket now!
- Ask your utility provider if they offer Buying green power
- Use rechargeable batteries. Duracell has a full line of these.
- Switch to non toxic cleaners. Toxic cleaners are not good if you have children in the house. We love Seventh Generation products
- Turn off the water while brushing your teeth. Isabella is still getting the hang of this. She just wants the water to run :/
- Use a water filter for your tap instead of buying bottled and use a reusable, aluminum, water bottle.
- Check out hand me down and second hands stores. I’m a huge fan of these. She grows out of them so quickly and I LOVE Craigslist!
- If you could walk or ride your bike somewhere, try to do so. If I only have a few groceries to pick up, we will walk to our local grocery store.
- When you leave your house, make sure all the lights and appliances are unplugged. This will not only help your payments go down but help save the environment
- Do it yourself home energy savers
- I wash all my clothes in cold water instead of hot. This will also prevent your color from running
- We don’t have all but have switch a bunch of our light bulbs to CFL’s.
- I learned when buying our new TV, anything with Energy Star on it will help save a ton on energy
For a really neat video of the past 40 years….come on over to BabyMommablog.com to watch.

About Tara Bucci
Blog Page: tarabucci
Website: http://www.babymommablog.com
Stay at home mom, Tara Bucci, was desperate to find a creative outlet after missing some of the the social interactions her professional life before mommy-hood afforded her. After a year of getting a handle on being a new mommy to daughter Isabella, in early 2009 she founded BabyMommaBlog.com. The goal was to help provide a multitude of parenting tips, tricks, product reviews for other new mommies experiencing the same daily challenges as herself. How did she come up with the name? I'm sure some of you have seen the movie "BabyMomma" which was based in Tara's hometown, Philadelphia. The name was catchy and summed up her mission.. the rest is history!
