By Toronto4Kids.com Picking strawberries is the perfect opportunity to teach kids about where our food comes from or to remind yourself just how flavorful fresh berries are supposed to taste. Strawberries typically peak from mid-June to mid-July depending on the spring weather conditions. Many farms will have a Strawberry Festival, where you can taste all kinds of fresh strawberry foods, pies, jams, cakes ? and most commonly, fresh strawberry shortcake. Find a farm that will also offer wagon rides, barnyard play and other activities for kids to make it a fun family day out!
